This weekend, I decided to visit one of my good friends in Columbus, Ohio. Originally, I had planned to fly out on Friday evening, but because I didn’t get off work until 4:30 PM, it would leave me only an hour to catch the flight. So I decided to leave on Saturday morning instead.
Washington Dulles (IAD) – Terminal A
There are several lounges at IAD that are accessible with Priority Pass membership. I decided to visit the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse. Virgin Atlantic flight departs in the evening. It makes sense for them to open the lounge to Priority Pass members in the morning to generate extra revenues. The lounge opens daily from 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM for Priority Pass and members will not be admitted outside these hours.
After clearing the security at the main terminal, take the pedestrian walkway to follow the sign that says “Gate A and B”. The lounge is located near Gate A32.

I got there around 6 AM when the lounge had just opened. I presented my Priority Pass card along with my mobile boarding pass for admission.
The main area consists of chairs, tables, ottomans. The decor is modern and minimalist.
Towards the back, there is a sitting area with chairs and tables with a gorgeous view of the tarmac. Though it was dark when I visited.

The offerings are basic. Breakfast selections like bagels, pastries, cereal, yogurt, and fruits are available.

Beverage stations.
There is also a self-serve refrigerator.

Upstairs, there is a loft-style sitting area overlooking the tarmac.
During my visit, I also checked out the shower. If you don’t want to get up to0 early to catch your morning flight, it may be a bad option to take a shower here instead.

Conclusion
The lounge is modern and stylish. It offers basic amenities and limited breakfast selections. It’s a decent place where you can have a light breakfast and a cup of coffee before your flight.
That said, I wouldn’t come early to enjoy the lounge. If you have some time to spare, the Turkish Airlines lounge is a better option, which is also accessible with Priority Pass membership.
