A couple of years ago, David and I had a trip together. We both have been to Bali before, so we thought we’d do something different. We decided to go to Lombok Island instead.
For those who are familiar, Lombok is an island that belongs to West Nusa Tenggara Province. It is less commercialized than Bali for sure. But it is still fairly easy to get to. There are plenty of flights from Jakarta and Denpasar – Bali. Alternatively, you can also take a ferry from Bali.
At the time, Sheraton Senggigi Lombok was still part of Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG). Since that was one of the decent hotels on the island, we decided to stay there.
The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the view and the breakfast buffet were absolutely wonderful. Since we stayed for a couple of nights, we will do share with you our morning feast in separate Sunday Brunch episodes.

Thoughts
The most valuable hotel status benefit is complimentary breakfast. However, most hotels outside the U.S. usually include breakfast in your hotel stay anyway, that’s why I’m not chasing hotel status. In this case, breakfast was included in my stay at Sheraton Senggigi Beach Resort Lombok, and it was delicious!
