I’ve been to Qatar Airways’ first class lounge, Al Safwa several times and one of the visits was featured on one of the Sunday Brunch’s episodes. That said, the menu is periodically rotated, and I’d like to feature this again on this weekend’s episode.
A few years ago, I traveled to the U.A.E, Armenia, and Thailand on a single trip. On the way back home, I flew Qatar Airways first class from Dubai to Bangkok via Doha, and I visited the lounge on during my layover in Doha.
Al Safwa lounge offers à la carte dining, and the service was expectedly flawless.
I can’t precisely remember why there were two menus, but I did order from both.
For the appetizer, I had wasabi prawns, served with wasabi mayo and spicy mango salsa.
And for the main course, I had herb-crusted lamb chop with mashed potatoes, carrot puree, market vegetables, and rosemary jus.
Thoughts
Both courses were excellent. After visiting many first class lounges around the world, Qatar Airways Al Safwa First Class Lounge remains on the top of my list, and I’m always looking forward to visiting the lounge whenever I have the opportunity.
