Sunday Brunch episode 23: ACHTI Resort Luxor, egypt

Sometimes it can be very emotional when going through old photos. That’s exactly what I’m doing this morning, so I thought it would be nice to post some of the pictures I took on my three-day tri-continent trip. A few years ago, I was in Luxor one day, and then Doha the next day, and Sydney the following day! We took everything in life for granted, and it hits me really hard when we can’t do what we did. I promise myself that once this pandemic is over, I will travel even more and appreciate every opportunity to do so.

I’ve been to Egypt several times. I have explored Cairo and had a wonderful time there, and next, it was time for me to visit another city — Luxor. The city is located in the southern part of Egypt, along the Nile River. In fact, I stayed at ACHTI Resort Luxor, where my room was only steps away from the Nile River!

Luxor at that time was still recovering from a political crisis a few years back. There wasn’t much to do in terms of food outside the hotel. But I was supposed to be “at work” anyway, so I pretty much stayed around the hotel, laid down by the pool, or hanging out by the river while I was “at work.” 😉

That said, I ordered the room service a lot. What’s great about it was that food was relatively inexpensive. I shamelessly admit that I am a glutton in terms of eating — with $7, you could order a feast!

Food and pool, food and pool, and repeat. That summed up my life at that time!

Once there was no more room left for food, I finally went out and explored the city.

Looking at all these pictures makes me really want to go back there. I really had a great time there, and I’ve NEVER felt unsafe (Yes, some ignorant people who have never been there, assured me that it’s very unsafe in Egypt 🙄).

Thoughts

I had a great stay at ACHTI Resort Luxor, and without a doubt, I had a fantastic visit to Luxor.

It’s hard to describe how much I miss traveling. Once the pandemic is over, my money will be spent even more on travel to support the hospitality businesses which suffer the most at the moment.
